Cooking classes in France

Autumn in the Dordogne promises sparkling sun-filled days and cool, misty evenings by the fireside. The medieval hilltop markets overflow with locally grown fruits and vegetables.  It’s apple, walnut and chestnut season. Fill your mesh bags with artisan cheeses, farm-churned butter, fresh foie gras, aromatic mushrooms and local green-hued olive oil. Select a free range duck for roasting with wild thyme and rosemary, a goose for confit, a loup de mer to grill over a bed of dried fennel, and purple plums and lavender for a tart. Splurge on a truffle.

Located near the town of Les Eyzies, our home in France is nestled in a green valley where pre-historic man once roamed.  The famous Lascaux cave is located within an easy drive and a guided tour of the remarkably accurate replica Lascaux ll is a highlight of our week at La Combe, as is a visit.   You’ll want to bring both your shopping bag and your camera when we visit the markets of the picturesque village of Sarlat, where the movie Chocolate was filmed.
